Weil and Sheppard Mullin send lawyers to AI bootcamp
The Lawyer's tech editor Ben Lucas reports on Weil and Sheppard Mullin sending their lawyers through the LegalQuants Residency.
LegalQuants trains lawyers to build their own tools. It runs the LegalQuants Residency, a four-week programme in which each lawyer builds a working AI tool with a mentor, and a community where members keep building. Its members contribute open-source work to Anthropic's Claude for Legal and to OpenAI for Law. LegalQuants was founded by Jamie Tso and Raymond Sun.

The Lawyer's tech editor Ben Lucas reports on Weil and Sheppard Mullin sending their lawyers through the LegalQuants Residency.
Weil funded three of its lawyers to join the LegalQuants Residency, a selective four-week programme that pairs each lawyer with a mentor to build an AI tool. Andrew Simon, Weil's Chief AI & Innovation Officer, ties it to the firm's decentralised approach to innovation.
Jamie Tso joins Victor Li on the ABA Journal's Legal Rebels podcast to talk about lawyers who build their own tools, and the LegalQuants network behind them.
Anthropic's launch of Claude for the legal industry names LegalQuants, with Box, Lawve AI and Thomson Reuters, as early contributors that have shipped skills and plugins, and points builders to LegalQuants for community-maintained skills.
