I love to create. Whether that’s crafting a cool argument, composing a song, or architecting a new AI system, creation gets me out of bed. I love solving the hardest problems, then finding even harder ones to solve. I started out as a litigator. I enjoyed the mental sparring, but found that I needed to work in a more future-facing role, imagining what tomorrow would be like. I ended up joining Alexi - the first serious legal research AI attempt after ROSS Intelligence - and stayed there from full time employee #1 to series A. Over that time I learned more about AI and the technical world, and found I loved it. Then I joined Fasken - Canada’s biggest law firm - in innovation. I led migrations and integrations and participated in change management. I eventually led a team of two developers in building custom AI tools for the firm. From there I joined SigmaSight where we’ve been building the operating systems for insurance claims.

Philosophy
"Society Depends on Access To Justice"
The absence of access to justice is a systemic problem and leads to the breakdown of trust. Technology offers a new way to provide access to justice at an unprecedented scale, which will enable us to reach the next era in social evolution.
"Hard Problems Are Worth Solving"
The harder the problem the more interesting it can be sometimes. While hard problems sometimes need trial and error and don't always have a clear outcome one always learns.
"AI Holds Infinite Promise"
I don't think LLMs are an end state, but I do think that they've sparked global imagination about what's possible. Even if an AI winter is on the horizon, what is already out there today can perform tasks we're barely even thinking of yet....let alone what we'll be able to make tomorrow. I see a bright future with AI and robotics.
